The Swashbuckling Doctors

Rescue The Universe

Rescue the Universe is the second full length album release by the Fort Collins band The Swashbuckling Doctors, and the first major release by the band since 2014's Side Effects May Include.... Rescue the Universe features the lead single "Make America Punk Again". The album is rooted in third wave ska music, but takes numerous musical detours into punk, reggae, metal, blues, interpretive dance, and Broadway.

The Swashbuckling Doctors started recording Rescue the Universe in November of 2015, and completed recording in early 2017. 9 of the 10 songs on the self-produced Rescue the Universe album were recorded and mixed at Stout Studios in Fort Collins by Darren Radach, and "Here Comes the Milkman" was recorded and mixed at Bridgeway Studios in Fort Collins by Kris Smith.

Kris Smith mastered the album, and Alan Douches prepared the album for vinyl production.

Rescue the Universe contains 10 original compositions, and The Swashbuckling Doctors share all writing credits. David Pinto, Caroline Miller, and Amanda Hofer all guest star on the baritone sax, bassoon, and vocals respectively.

The Swashbuckling Doctors held an album release party for Rescue the Universe at The Aggie Theatre in Fort Collins on May 20, 2017. The event was presented by Radio 94.9, and featured ska legends 12 Cents for Marvin, and Denver ska-punk heroes, The Couch Bombs.
